Jazz in the Gardens offers food tasting sneak preview
The 2016 Jazz in the Gardens music festival showcased some of the foods that will be served at this year’s festival, including Jamaican and Bahamian cuisine. Some of the food vendors in attendance included chef Keith Reed of Reed & Sons Catering serving seafood and a conch salad served in hollowed-out pineapples. Reed made the conch salad fresh as we watched. Next, was smoked dry-rubbed barbecue from Bon-na-fide and dark-meat chicken with homemade mustard and traditional barbecue sauce. O G Sassy Desserts had delectable items on display, from an assortment of mini cupcakes and pies to bread pudding.
Mayor Oliver Gilbert was in attendance with other local politicians to enjoy tasting all of these great foods. As you prepare to sit and listen to the great music for the evening, stop by the awesome food vendors.
There will be about 50 food stations in the Food Village such as Fruitzen Delite to cool you off with 12 flavors of the all-natural frozen dessert, including fruit punch, mango, pin͂a colada, green apple and cherry.
Also, Aretha Franklin will not be performing, Charlie Wilson will be replacing her in the lineup.
