14 Mar Jazz in the Gardens All About Music, Arts and Empowerment
Every year the Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival (JITG) grows and adds new components. The festival has been so successful that it has been dubbed “the fastest growing jazz and R&B festival in the U.S.”
In its 14th year, the City of Miami Gardens presented various events to kick off their 2019 festival. Events included the 3rd Annual Film, Music, Art and Culture Conference (FMAC), poetry contest and the 8th Annual Women’s Impact Luncheon in honor of women’s history month. The featured artist was performer Stephanie Mills, author and entrepreneur Arian Simone, co-host of “Sister Circle” on TV One Rashan Ali, and Kristen Campbell, attorney and NFL Agent.
The Film, Music, Art & Culture Conference was an exciting one-day multi-genre experience to educate and showcase diverse art forms. The panel of experts included filmmaker Peter Bailey, Legendary R&B diva Betty Wright, muralist Addonis Parker and Kim Tignor’s of Creative Control, who discussed the “business of entertainment.”
The weekend performers included a star studded list of national recording artist: Lionel Richie, Brandy, Teddy Riley featuring Blackstreet, Dave Hollister, Bobby Brown, Doug E. Fresh, En Vogue and Jagged Edge, Stephanie Mills, Guy, Betty Wright, The O’Jays, Black Violin and Tye Tribbett.
