Jazz in the Gardens music festival returns this weekend. Here’s what you need to know

Music arrives in Miami Gardens this weekend as Jazz in the Gardens music festival comes to town.

The 15th annual event, canceled like so many others in 2021, returns with a lineup that includes Mary J. Blige, fresh off her Super Bowl appearance (we hope she wears those thigh-high boots and performs her meme-inspiring “death drop” again). Also performing are The Isley Brothers, The Roots, H.E.R. and Rick Ross, among others. Syndicated radio host and comedian Rickey Smiley returns as host.

Tickets are still available for the two-day festival, but you should buy them in advance. There will be no walk-up sales at the stadium during the event at the Hard Rock box office, but tickets can be purchased at Mobile Box Offices from 2-10 p.m. Gate 14A and Gate 2. Each ticket is good for both days.

This year, ticket holders will also need to show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card or a negative COVID-19 test. Masks will not be required but are encouraged.

Parking is available at the lots around the stadium for $40 ($35 if you buy parking beforehand). There will also be a food village with vendors selling food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, and pop-up merchandise stands.

Here’s a schedule of who’s performing. There’s also an opening night party March 11 with Bo Weezy, DJ Tight and Fly Guy.
