23 Feb Maxwell headlines star-studded 17th JITG Music Festival lineup
The soul-stirring, Grammy award-winning, and multi-platinum-selling Maxwell will headline a star-studded lineup featuring Babyface, Jeezy, Scarface, and DJ Cassidy’s “Pass the Mic Live! featuring Lil Kim, T.I., Too $hort, Uncle Luke, Tamia, Marsha Ambrosius and October London for the 17th Annual Jazz In The Gardens (JITG) Music Festival – and that is only day two.
They are just but a few of the incredible talents set to grace the festival’s stages for what has become the City of Miami flagship event.
Jazz In The Gardens will be held March 9-10 at Hard Rock Stadium and hosted by the dynamic comedic duo Rickey Smiley and Jess Hilarious.
Rickey Smiley will host day two with Jess Hilarious tapped to host day one which will feature performances by Jazmine Sullivan, Summer Walker, Davido, Kirk Franklin, Omarion, Fantasia, Tink and Eric Bellinger and a special DJ set by Kid Capri – “DJ Nasty 305 Welcome to The Crib Set” featuring Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Trina, Ballgreezy, Wayne Wonda, Major 9 and Michael Sterling.
The event is called Jazz in the Gardens, but the two-day event offers a dynamic fusion of R&B, Soul, Afrobeat, and Hip-Hop genres, broadening the festival’s appeal across diverse age groups.
Black Promoters Collective (BPC) unveiled the groundbreaking partnership with JITG marking a significant step towards redefining and expanding the iconic festival experience.
Troy Brown, Black Promoters Collective partner and CMO said BPC is thrilled to work alongside the City of Miami Gardens to enhance the already vibrant Jazz In The Gardens brand and take it to the next level.
“For example, notably, JITG has never incorporated the Afrobeat genre into its lineup. BPC plans to change that and infuse the festival with a mix of genres, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees,” said Brown.
Miami Gardens Mayor Rodney Harris said the
partnership with the BPC promises an enhanced festival experience, and a line-up of talented artists who represent the diverse culture in Miami Gardens and South Florida region.
This year’s festival staging will offer exciting additions — a vibrant marketplace, providing festival-goers with a diverse and immersive experience, accelerated storytelling, and a newly installed food truck village.
This collaboration signifies a crucial milestone in the growth of the Black Promoters Collective, expanding its portfolio into festivals and other live performance markets. The partnership with JITG, they say, aligns with BPC’s commitment to redefining the live performance experience, promising a truly unforgettable festival for all attendees.
And The Nassau Guardian and Star 106.5 FM Hits have partnered with Bahamasair, the newly renovated Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 1701 University Drive, Plantation, Florida; and GoGoFlorida to give Bahamians the opportunity to once again take in this much-anticipated festival experience.
People can pick up a copy of The Nassau Guardian, fill out the printed entry form, clip it out and drop it off in the entry box at The Nassau Guardian’s Carter Street office to give themselves a chance at winning prize packages inclusive of two-day concert tickets.
Hopefuls can also enter via the Star 106 Hits website.
JITG entry deadline is Monday, March 1. Winners will be drawn on March 4 for the March 9-10 festival.

A number of supplementary winners will also win concert tickets to the festival at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, sales and marketing consultant, Bahamasair, has said they are always happy to partner with The Nassau Guardian, Star 106 Hits and GoGoFlorida and Holiday Inn Express & Suites to provide airlift to Miami and Fort Lauderdale for Bahamians wanting to take in the popular music festival.
Wilson, a frequent JITG attendee, said he always looks forward to the music festival.
JITG tickets start at $105 general admission for one day and you can bring your own chair or rent a chair; a two-day general admission pass is $186. Prime one day is $170; two days is $311. Platinum one day ticket is $250; two days is $449. Silver ambassador two-day only ticket is $984 with seating in rows two and three, parking passes access to dedicated restrooms and a souvenir lanyard. Gold Ambassador two-day only ticket is $1,053 includes front row seats and everything else from the silver package. Garden activation (VIP) is $950 and is standing room only, access to dedicated food trucks, restrooms and sponsor activations. Titanium level (two-day-only) is $1,500 and comes with elevated seating area with access to stage viewing area, parking pass, open bar featuring beer, wine and select spirits, and light snacks and dinner buffet with sweet snacks and dedicated bathroom.
