Miami’s Jazz In The Gardens weekend festival is set to return with 305 legend Rick Ross as the headlining act after a pandemic-induced hiatus.<\/p>\n
Rick Ross spoke with CBS Miami on Friday (March 11) about his upcoming performance at Jazz in the Gardens, the inaugural event following COVID-19, which has become a community pastime over the past decade.<\/p>\n
\u201cI go hard every time I go, but this time will be special because I\u2019m home,\u201d Rick Ross said. \u201cFirst time at Jazz in the Gardens. I\u2019m going to make sure it\u2019s historic. That\u2019s the only way I know.\u201d<\/p>\n
He went on to express his excitement with the growth of the event in recent years, theorizing how the local festival could potentially measure up to California’s own Coachella music and art festival.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis generation you have your own little Coachella, right here in the city,\u201d he said. \u201cI just wanna watch the lineup, watch the crowd, watch everybody that\u2019s from here and not from here coming together to be here, right in my neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event will take place on March 12 and will feature performances by a variety of artists such as Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., veteran R&B group SWV, The Roots, as well as T-Pain and The Isley Brothers.<\/p>\n
