The 2024 Jazz in the Gardens bet heavy that this year\u2019s lineup would attract more people.<\/p>\n
With hip-hop heavyweights like Jeezy<\/a><\/span><\/span>, Lil Kim and Scarface, R&B stars like Maxwell, Summer Walker<\/a><\/span><\/span> and Jazmine Sullivan<\/a><\/span><\/span> as well as a sprinkle of gospel and Afrobeats thanks to Kirk Franklin<\/a><\/span><\/span> and Davido respectively, the 17th annual JITG was one of the best yet. The numbers certainly bear that out too: about 30,000 people attended the festival<\/a>, roughy double that of last year.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s really what Black culture is about: family, togetherness,\u201d Black Promoters Collective CEO Gary Guidry told The Miami Herald. \u201cWe\u2019re the kings and queens of backyard barbecues \u2013 that is multi-generational loving on each other. You got to give a platform for people to party together and love on each other and that\u2019s what we\u2019re trying to do.\u201d<\/p>\n And that\u2019s exactly what happened. Franklin stepped into the crowd and had the whole audience turning up for Jesus. Jeezy did for it the trappers and the the the block.
